Grant Applications 

 

TMF’s 2019 Grant Cycle will be open from May 20th to June 30th.

 

Stabilization Grant:  Online Application   [This link will be active on May 20th]

The Merchants Fund is committed to providing for the economic needs of the merchant community with modest grants. Merchants must be located in Philadelphia for a minimum of three years. Business Stabilization grants of $500 to $10,000 are available to help small businesses remain stable and viable in the face of economic challenges, changes, and crisis. The application process is competitive. There is no guarantee of an award. We recommend that merchants explore other funding sources simultaneously to the grant application process. Before you are able to complete an application you will be directed to an Eligibility Quiz. Grant Process & Timeline

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis as they are received. If your proposed project is compelling and fits TMF’s funding priorities, you will be contacted to schedule a site visit. A site visit is an opportunity for TMF staff to learn more about you and your business, as well as the proposed project for which you are seeking funding. As such, you will be asked follow-up questions about your business and the project to help the Board of Managers in making the final grant decisions.

Application Available*: Monday, May 20th

Application due date: Sunday, June 30th (online) or Friday, June 28th (paper)

Site visits: June-August

Notification of grant decisions: September

Disbursement of grant funds will begin immediately after grant decisions are made. All projects must be completed, and funds disbursed, by November 1st.

Online Application

Our application process will be online* beginning May 20th. You’ll be able to link to the application by visiting this site between May 20th and June 30th. You’ll be asked to create a login and password, then directed to take the Eligibility Quiz to determine if your business is eligible for a grant. If you are eligible, you’ll be directed to the full application.

NEW THIS YEAR: In addition to questions about your business and the project for which you’re seeking funding, if your business was referred to TMF by one of our partners (i.e. a CDFI, CDC, SBDC, or other provider of business technical assistance) or you’re working with a sponsoring agency we’ll ask you to provide contact information so that your sponsor can also provide a recommendation for you. These organizations are also available to assist you in completing your online application, to provide translation services (if needed), and to upload the required documents to the online system.

All online applications* will be due by midnight on Sunday, June 30th.

* To improve grant tracking and communication, there is a strong preference to have all applications completed online. If this is not possible, please email grants@merchantsfund.org to request a paper copy. Paper copies of the application and all additional application materials must be postmarked by Saturday, June 29th and sent to 1528 Walnut Street, Suite 1004, Philadelphia PA 19102 (or emailed to grants@merchantsfund.org).
