Infusion Café

Stabilization Grant, Spring 2008

Infusion Café is owned and operated by a husband and wife duo who have rededicated themselves to this vital community gathering spot in Mt. Airy despite the economic barriers from the, then, Germantown Avenue construction project.  They offer a variety of coffees and teas, plus breakfast, brunch, and lunch with vegan and vegetarian options.

The TMF contributed a multifaceted grant that was intended to improve and restructure Infusion Café, upgrade facilities and equipment, improve the green profile, and maximize profit. The grant also included hiring an employee from Mugshots, implementation of expansion plans, review and overhaul all of their systems, a cost-out of prepared food, set up of training models for staff, and identifying new vendors.  This helped to keep this community staple thriving in the changing neighborhood, and allowed them to push through the hardship the construction had caused them.  Infusion was sold to new owners and it remains a stronghold on the corridor.
