Cantina la Martina

Overview: Cantina la Martina, a lively restaurant located in the heart of Kensington, received a TMF grant in 2022. A year later, Chef Dionicio Jiménez was named a finalist for a 2023 James Beard Award. His food uses the best ingredients to showcase authentic Mexican flavors and cuisine. TMF supported Cantina La Martina with a $10,000 grant to help with repairs and increase seating capacity; TMF also provided coaching through our Beyond the Grant program.

Impact: “The grant helped us with the improvements needed to fix the HVAC, having proper heating and cooling improved the operations, conditions, and comfort of guests and employees working in the space.

The tent helped with increasing seating capacity, having additional seating space allowed us to organize 4 large events and host large dinner parties.
